Languages put our worlds in focus, give structure to our thoughts and help us to communicate with the people around us. Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom”. Having good command over any language guarantees success.

In an age when books are being replaced by television, computers and smartphones, Literary week brought students closer to books and magic of language and literature.

Shiksha Shikhar celebrated Literary Week in the first week of November. Various activities were conducted to hone literary skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Students were given twenty stories to read. Everyday, they read stories and selected five new words, used a dictionary to know the meaning and usage. They drew pictures based on the stories they read.

To enhance their imagination and thinking ability, students worked in groups and created their own stories. They gave different endings to some of the famous stories.

An informative and useful session on ‘How to write stories in an organised way’ was conducted by Ms Neelima Gupta.

The Literary Week culminated with performances of our little Shikharians based on the favourite characters from the stories.

The week turned out to be an extremely engaging experience mixing learning with fun for children.
